Job Description
Property Controller
This position is responsible for ensuring all client financials are consistent and accurate when they go out and includes oversight for tax returns, audits, and special assessments.
Responsibilities:
Review all client financials on a quarterly basis to ensure accuracy including balance sheet clean up
Train management staff on how to read and interpret financial statements
Facilitate financial aspects of onboarding new clients and offboarding existing clients leaving
Serve as liaison with Vantaca and Appfolio as needed
Serve as liaison to Avid/strongroom if necessary
Serve as liaison with property banking partners as needed
Special projects as needed
Oversee the accounting department that services our condominium clients and eventually our investment portfolio clients
Education and Experience:
Degree in Accounting
Must have strong work ethic
Must be well organized and a self-starter
Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
Proficient in Excel and Word, and QuickBooks.
Possess strong organizational and time management skills
Strong problem-solving skills, advanced accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
