Job Location: Boston/remote

Hours: 9-5

Accumulate, journal, reconcile and report on Americas region financial information for specific transactions and programs.
    • Prepare financial reports for internal distribution
    • Review and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process
    • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations over various and rotating areas
    • Review balance sheets and income statement accounts for accuracy
    • Prepare and review fluctuation analysis of balance sheet accounts for delivery to senior management
    • Assist with preparation of quarterly reporting package to the Americas CFO
  • Responsible for aspects of the month-end financial close, including meeting with FP&A and others within the organization, reviewing contracts, and performing calculations and analysis to prepare more complex journal entries and analysis
  • Assist in the identification of risks and implementation of new controls where necessary
  • Prepare detailed audit schedules for year-end and interim reviews.
  • Assist with finance system implementation by updating and/or preparing necessary Accounting policies and instruct/educate worldwide offices to ensure compliance
  • Remain informed of new and/or changing US GAAP standards
    • Align the accounting needs from both a Global perspective as well as local statutory perspective
  • Evaluate, develop and coach junior team members and assistance with preparation of semi-annual reviews for these individuals
  • Assist in the management of the team with a focus on achievement of overall team goals as well as supervision of individuals in accountant and experienced accountant roles
  • Assist in the analysis and development of internal controls for safeguarding company assets. Develop documentation of procedures and recommendations for process improvements
  • Perform diverse duties for departmental, corporate and banking requirements, and perform other duties and projects as assigned
  • Represent the company as a highly visible customer service representative, both internally and externally, including inquiries from cost center managers, domestic and international controllers, other finance department staff members, etc.

Required
  • Bachelor’ s degree
  • CPA

Preferred
  • Big four experience

Required
  • 4-6+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience working in a regional or global accounting environment
  • Knowledge of computer information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications
    • Eg. SAP, FloQast, Visual Lease

Required
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to research relevant guidance to support and/or suggest proper accounting treatment
  • Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to logically structure problems using a hypothesis driven approach
  • Ability to work effectively in global teams
  • Excellent written communication skills (in PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt oral communication style to varied audiences
  • English language fluency (both written and oral)
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Ability to prioritize time and tasks according to business needs and value, avoid low-value add daily fire-fighting in order to hit long-term goals and objectives
  • Self-starter and the ability to work independently

Headstart – GL NE, GL National

Contract with permanent potential

Estimated Duration: 6-7 months

Hourly: 43-57

Salary: $90-123K

Background Check: yes, very extensive check

Timeline: Start end of July, early August

Location: Preferably in the Boston area however they are willing to look 100% remote

*Everyone is remote right now but plans to go back into the office come September

*Manager is willing to hire someone remotely for the duration of the role even if it goes perm
