New York New York
Hybrid: Tues-Thurs in office 3 days a week in office and/or visiting major donors, 2 days a week from home.  In office days will likely be more around large fundraising events
Ancillary Benefits 
$175,000-$185,000

Must Haves:  
  • 5+ years large scale nonprofit fundraising
  • 2+ years managing within a fundraising team
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong experience with board in order to support fundraising efforts

Job Summary/Description:  
A leading social services nonprofit is looking for a strong Director of Fundraising to join the team.  This individual develops annual fundraising programs and manages Foundation’s fundraising efforts.   A key leadership position within SCS Foundation whose primary responsibility is to develop new and existing donors seeking new prospects by securing major donations, while maintaining  the relationship with current donors; will oversee all individual giving programs, including major gifts, the annual campaign, special events. 
Principal Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for all fundraising within the organization with the expectation to build and manage a portfolio of new and current individual donors and prospects, working to secure annual and major gifts.  
  2. Develops, implements and evaluates a strategic fundraising plan for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major and annual gifts prospects and donors to achieve revenue projections.
  3. Will have oversight of participation in annual campaigns including targeted campaigns to the Boards, family members and UJA-Federation.
  4. Working with the Executive Director, plays a vital role in coordination of special events, including the Annual Gala, receptions and cultivation events.
  5. Work closely with leadership entities including the Board, Foundation Board and the Chinese and Russian Advisory Councils optimizing fundraising results and  while strengthening and growing  the organization’s annual and targeted fundraising campaigns.
  6. Researches, identifies and cultivates new potential individual donors and family foundations at all levels.
  7. Manages a portfolio of individual donors and prospects through all stages of engagement, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
  8. Conducts prospect research to support Development initiatives; prepares written material for correspondence, invitations, programs, journals, collateral materials, acknowledgement letters and newsletters as necessary.
  9. Adheres to organization’s standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in a timely manner on topics including – but not limited to – Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regard to regulatory compliance or good business practices.
  10. Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers.
  11. Adheres to the organization’s policy regarding absenteeism and appearance and health and safety standards.
