Director of Financial Operations

This individual will be leading the Finance Operations function for our Technology Solutions business unit and will spearhead the monthly financial reporting, monthly forecasts, annual budgeting process, and operating plan variance analysis. S/he will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing financial presentations/statements, business performance analysis, investment analysis, program performance analysis, and other projects requested. This function acts as the analytical engine of the business unit to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making. The position reports to the Head of Finance – Technology Solutions. The selected individual must be able to work in a highly dynamic, fast paced environment and will be counted on to provide proactive, strategic input as part of the senior leadership team. This position will be routinely engaged in discussions with senior functional leaders across the business unit and the company. 
 
Responsibilities Include: ? 

  • Lead and evolve the core Financial Operations processes including monthly and quarterly forecasting; variance reporting and analysis; annual budget planning; monthly business reviews and Board reporting 

  • Develop financial reporting and commentary that provides senior leaders with timely insights into trends, operational results, and business drivers 

  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Business Development, Sales, Program Management, Operations, Finance, and IT to create automated processes and best in class reporting capabilities 

  • Create and analyze financial reports, business KPIs, dashboards, and data models to support reporting and forecasting processes 

  • Provide strategic business partnership to all functions, develop understanding of program strategies & prioritization to support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-range planning assumptions 

  • Serve as business partner and liaison to senior management team to help drive effective business decisions, sound financial strategies and alignment to achieving company objectives 

  • Work with Corporate Director of FP&A and other business partners to ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and reporting requirements 

  • Mange the Program Costs Analysts for the business unit 

  • Offer solutions to gain process efficiency and improve data integrity 

  • Support ad-hoc finance projects and analysis ? 

Basic Qualifications:? 

  • BS in Accounting or Finance 

  • MBA or CPA preferred 

  • Strong leadership and business acumen 

  • 7+ years of direct experience in Financial Operations function 

  • Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience in Defense and Aerospace Industry 

  • Experience in government contracting and solid knowledge of government Cost Accounting Standards 

  • Demonstrated experience creating strategic financial projections and high-level actionable analysis 

  • Strategic thinker who has ability to create, influence and execute cross-functionally to achieve results 

  • Ability to partner and influence at all levels 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Expert financial modeling skills
