Job Title: Settlement Accountant
Direct - $75,000-$85,000
Hybrid - Location: Chicago IL, Tinley IL, or Munster IN Must Have:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
2-5 years of Core Accounting experience
Experience with full-cycle accounting, including income statements and balance sheets reconciliation
Proficient in Excel
Understanding of Financial PMO
Plus:
Master’s degree
CPA and/or CMA a plus
Experience with Netsuite ERP, QuickBooks, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint
Position Overview:
The Settlement Accountant handles both Settlement Operations and Accounting tasks. Key responsibilities include reviewing and maintaining settlement reports, reconciling balance sheet accounts, completing merchant month-end billing, maintaining merchant positions, and addressing various requests as needed. Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily/Monthly Reconciliation: Perform and maintain reconciliations across all Payroc products by reviewing reports and bank accounts, resolving discrepancies.
Exception Handling: Investigate failed/rejected payments, update records, and debit/credit clients as necessary.
Monitoring: Oversee critical reports and emails to ensure successful task completion, escalating issues to stakeholders when required.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain timely communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Issue Resolution: Collaborate with the Settlement Operations team to investigate and resolve anomalies.
Client Support: Address client questions related to settlement tasks.
Process Improvement: Become an expert in settlement tasks and drive ongoing process improvements.
Development Involvement: Participate in developments affecting settlement tasks.
Travel Requirements: less than 10%
