Must Haves:
  • 3+ years of program management experience in a large scale, complex higher education or non-profit setting.
  • Experience with meeting/event organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases.
Preferred: 
  • Higher Education experience 

Job Description:
The Program Manager will be responsible for temporarily managing one or more established programs that serve faculty, staff or students. Represents program to public, University community and those served by the program. Ensures that program and service delivery objectives are met while under management. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to forecasting revenues and expenses, creating a budget for the program, allocating resources from one area of the budget to another with limited review, negotiating with external suppliers, signing contracts of significance on behalf of the program, creating and implementing department systems, practices, policies and procedures, and developing and maintaining internal and external constituent relationships. The Manager will maintain and use files, records, materials and digital content about the program. Candidate should have 3+ years of program management experience in a large scale, complex higher education or non-profit setting.

This position will be responsible for managing all daily activities in the SEC Makerspace. This on-campus position requires working afternoons and evenings, Monday through Friday and occasional weekends. The ideal candidate will have a broad base of fabrication experiences and interests including wood and metal fabrication, digital fabrication (laser cutting, 3D printing), electronics, and/or programming. - Assist faculty and the Makerspace Director in the design, development, and implementation of innovative making activities and workshops. Help create and define processes, procedures, safety guidelines and best practices for the SEC Makerspace.
-Teach and mentor students and others in the use of shop equipment such as laser cutters, 3D printers, shop tools, CNC mills, lathes, soldering irons, oscilloscopes, sewing machines, and other typical maker tools, and provide support for their projects. Lead Makerspace safety trainings and ensure safe practices within the space.
-Develop and deploy instructional modules and workshops in support of fabrication-intensive programs such as SEAS summer programs and winter session courses.
- Oversee the creation of training videos for Makerspace equipment and develop an online learning depository.
- Design and implement evaluation tools and methods including surveys, case studies or statistical analyses to evaluate Makerspace programming/use, best practices and support future growth.
- Develop awareness events and activities to promote and advertise the Makerspace to broad audiences. Create marketing content, social media presence, and foster networking.
- Create inventory/record keeping systems, develop budget reports and space use statistics, and handle equipment/supply purchases. Work closely with the Active Learning Labs teams to maintain inventory and equipment for shared shop spaces.
- Supervise student interns and temporary staff.
- Build and maintain a network of connections with similar makerspace facilities, surrounding machine shops, and other hands-on spaces on campus.
