Must Haves:
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years administrative experience in a medical environment
  • Speak & write English
Preferred:
  • Bilingual
  • Experience admitting, medical office, managed care, insurance or customer service environment.
Job Description
This position plays a key role in facilitating the smooth admission process for patients, ensuring accurate data entry, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in customer service or healthcare settings, with excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and hospital staff.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Accurately collect and verify patient information, including demographic and insurance details.
  • Utilize medical terminology to interpret patient records, insurance forms, and related documents.
  • Input patient data into the hospital’s computerized systems with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient admission details and required documentation.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, answering telephones, and scheduling appointments.
  • Assist with troubleshooting basic office equipment and technology as needed.
  • Ensure that all forms and documents are completed in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.
  • Handle inquiries and resolve issues related to insurance, billing, or patient admission efficiently and professionally.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage multiple duties simultaneously in a busy and sometimes high-pressure environment.
  • Provide support and information to patients and families regarding hospital procedures, insurance verification, and pre-authorization requirements.
