Our Client is seeking a Payroll and AP Manager, reporting to the VP of Finance, who will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of domestic and global payrolls, supporting accounting workflows such as accounts payable, and employee benefits administration. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of multi-state and international payroll and benefit regulations.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing & Accounts Payable

    • Manage end to end payroll process for domestic and global employees, including data entry and verification, with extreme attention to detail and timeliness.

    • Ensure accuracy of payroll calculations, deductions, and withholdings in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

    • Manage year-end payroll processes, working with an international service provider where applicable, to ensure compliance with annual tax statements and reporting requirements for each country.

    • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

    • Conduct routine payroll audits and respond to payroll-related inquiries promptly.

    • Own the vendor set up process.

    • Own the processing of accounts payable, remitting of vendor payments and the daily reconciliation of system to operating cash account.

    • Prepare monthly reconciliations and journal entries for payroll and accounts payable.

    • Setup new employees in SAP Concur, process expense reimbursements with close attention to detail, and integrate data into the accounting system.

  • Benefits Administration

    • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans and other voluntary benefits.

    • Coordinate with benefits vendors and brokers to ensure smooth administration of benefits plans.

    • Conduct periodic audits of benefits data to maintain accuracy and compliance.

    • Provide ongoing support to employees regarding benefits, enrollments, terminations and changes.

    • Audit all benefit invoices for accuracy.

  • Reporting and Analysis

    • Generate reports and analyze payroll and benefits data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.

    • Provide insights and recommendations based on analysis to enhance payroll and benefits processes.

    • Prepare regular reports for management, HR and finance departments regarding payroll expenses, benefits utilization, and other related metrics.

    • Post all journal entries for payroll, benefits and expenses in line with the monthly close.

    • Additional accounting duties as assigned.
 
Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll administration and accounts payable.

  • Experience with benefits administration and regulations.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing systems and software. Experience with ADP and Concur preferred. Experience with Great Plains/MS Dynamics is a plus. Skilled in Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) a plus.
