Why Open: Role opened a month ago after benefits specialist left, she had only one qualified applicant apply to her Indeed post. She (Pam, Hiring Manager) will be taking on more sr. managerial duties and needs to hire an HR Generalist ASAP to oversee benefits and employee relations, as well as help facilitate recruitment efforts (mostly for warehouse and CSR roles.)

Role is fully on-site, Peabody, MA, 8:30-5pm working hours (or 8-4:30.) Will this work for them?

 

 

Backstory/Additional Job Details/Recruiting for Candidate Insight:

Online literature retail store with about 500 employees, need an HR Generalist to oversee benefits and employee relations with their various warehouse and customer service employees. Duties may include FMLA, Open enrollment (starts in July), Payroll, Benefits Administration, setting up performance plans for employees, setting S.M.A.R.T goals and helping to address general inquiries and complaints. In addition, candidate will help facilitate seasonal recruitment efforts, with the bulk of hiring being done between August-November.

 

The employee relations and benefits administration part of the job is key to what she is looking for, and ultimately she would like someone with a few years of HR experience and 2 years of benefits/payroll/employee relations experience.

  • 5 years of HR Experience

Job Summary/Description:

• Facilitate hiring process from recruitment to interviews and orientation, in partnership with department managers. The majority of hiring is for non-exempt staff population

• Perform tasks needed to administer disciplinary matters, performance management, productivity, recognition, and maintain overall company culture

• Knowledge of best practices, compliance updates, talent management, and employment law

• Active member of company safety committee, as well as maintain all workers compensation claims and annual reporting

• Backup for weekly and biweekly payroll processing, as well as benefits and leave of absence administration, including ACA and EEO-1 annual filings

• Other duties as assigned
