HR Assistant
1-year contract
Location: Houston, TX (onsite)
Pay Range: $22-24/hr
Benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401k
Must Haves:
- HS diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 1 year of HR or clerical experience
- Microsoft Office (proficient)
- Familiarity with ATS and ERP systems
Preferred:
- Energy/Construction industry experience
- Taleo experience
Job Summary/Description:
The Human Resource Assistant will provide administrative support to a range of human resources functions performing tasks such as record keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry. This position will be a liaison between the HR department and employees, ensuring effective communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources functions and duties
- Answers department telephone in a professional, courteous manner
- Properly handles complaints and grievances and refers them to the HR Generalist or management
- Coordinate communication with Recruiters and schedule interviews for new hire orientation
- Order drug screen cups
- Process all HR Craft address changes
- Complete and respond to requests for Verification of employment as needed
- Completion of weekly report on total number of walk-ins and calls received the week of
- Update the HR Vendor list as needed
- Monitors and audits career site and other external posting sites to ensure all job listings are accurate
- Assist with new hire paperwork; prepare orientation tools and packets
- Compile and maintains employee files
- Assist with unemployment claims
- Effectively handle multiple assignments and special projects
- Routinely monitor general HR office email box
- Responsible for HRIS data entry including terminations
- Assists in coordination of job fairs and other recruitment activities
- Orders and maintains office supplies as needed
- Maintains confidentiality of Human Resources files and records
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with multiple applicants tracking systems (ATS)
- Someone who has worked with ERP systems
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift, push, and pull, up to, 25 lbs.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task effectively, with minimal supervision or direction
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential data with a high level of professionalism
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of Human Resources/clerical experience preferred
- Experience with Taleo preferred but not required
