Financial Reporting Analyst
Contract
Location: Boston, MA

Must Haves:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or management required
  • 5+ years experience

Preferred:
  • SAP
Job Summary/Description: The main aim of this role is to assist senior management within the Office of Budget Planning and Institutional Research, as well as various university units and departments, in matters relating to budget and finance. This includes coordinating reporting and analysis of budget and actual data, developing financial forecast models, and providing crucial financial insights to aid in the establishment of financial performance benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
 
  • Reconciling position budget data between HCM and FM funded amounts and reviewing position funding worklist items. (25%)
  • Generating reports and metrics from multiple financial, budgeting, human resources, and legacy systems across the institution. (20%)
  • Supporting the University's annual development and quarterly confirmation process for operating budgets and distributing approved budgets. (15%)
  • Maintaining and monitoring the University's budget forecasting tools, both short-term and long-term. (10%)
  • Preparing detailed analyses of budget trends, discrepancies, and amendments, and recommending strategies for efficiency and savings. (10%)
  • Consulting with various university offices and officers, such as the President and Provost, to address short and long-term funding issues. (5%)
  • Taking a leadership role in various analyses and projects throughout the year and potentially supervising analysts during projects. (5%)
  • Analyzing activity in central accounts, collaborating with other central support offices to resolve issues as needed. (5%)
  • Compiling data and preparing specialized reports, analyses, and presentations for executive review. (5%)
  • Assisting in all University budget presentations as required
