Job Description


The EHS Specialist will  inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.  The EHS Specialist will  support the implementation of EHS programs in the MA facility and is responsible for regulatory reporting. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform audits and safety inspections as needed.
  • Ensure that hazardous materials and controlled substances are adequately identified and controlled.
  • Lead investigation and ensure timely resolution of all incidents including identification of the root causes and corrective and preventive actions. 
  • Responsible for ensuring the company adheres to all federal, state, and local regulations and codes.
  • Educate employees about maintaining a safe workplace to promote a culture of safety.
  • Demonstrate the use of safety equipment and ensure proper use by employees
  • Assist the EHS Sr Manager in establishing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and training.
  • Support continual improvement activities to enhance Safety, such as 5S, Kaizen events, lean methods, etc.
  • Interface with Managers, Supervisors, and Leads on safety-related issues.
  • Perform duties following established safety standards.
  • Actively support Environmental, Health, and Safety and rules and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with 2 – 4 years of experience. 
  • Associate degree with minimum 7 years direct EHS experience. 
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, protocols, and procedures.
  • Skill in performing safety inspections and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate with associates at all levels of the organization. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be physically active (lifting, standing, bending, reaching, etc.) and ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally and less weight frequently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
  • Experience working for a global company
  • Advance knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Bilingual, specifically English and Spanish
