Claims Specialist
8-month contract
Location: Des Moines, IA (onsite, hybrid after 30 days)

$20-22/hr

Must Haves:
  • HS diploma
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite (proficient)
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with TRACKER is desired
  • General knowledge of State escheat processes

Job Description:

This position will consist of taking escalated calls, making outbound calls to beneficiaries/funeral homes

Responsibilities:
  • Thorough working knowledge of TRACKER, FLIC’s unclaimed property tracking system 
  • Reconciliation and clean up of TRACKER records – responsibility for the overall ‘health’ of the TRACKER database(s)
  • Assist in the processing of returned mail to Forethought for processing
  • Responsible for the reconciliation processes to keep INGN and Tracker in sync
  • Continues to learn about the rapidly changing unclaimed property environment through education provided through Tracker and trade organizations
  • Responsible for documenting and owning procedures required in unclaimed property tracking
  • Communicates with team members and management
  • Assumes shared responsibility for all team goals, processes and initiatives
  • Assists in any audits that may be initiated
  • Assists with general claims processin

  • Ensures standards are documented and adhered to
  • Experience with TRACKER is desired.
  • General knowledge of State escheat processes is desired
  • Analytical, prioritization, organizational and time management skills
  • PC literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong focus on customer service is essential
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Ability to work in a team environment with challenging deadlines is required
