A real estate organization in Boston, MA seeks an Accounting Manager to join their growing team.

Direct Hire
2 days onsite in Boston

Must Haves:
Management experience
Fund accounting/reporting & investor reporting experience
Real Estate or similar industry experience
Preferred:
Debt experience
Yardi experience
Job Summary/Description:
Preparation and review of monthly financial statements and supporting materials for accuracy and reasonableness, consolidation and elimination entries, and reconciliations
Oversee the fund accounting department for a portfolio of equity investments, properties, including supervision of the daily workflow of the accounting staff, routine and non-routine assignments, and monthly financial statement close process
Responsible for the management of the external audit process
Liaison with property management at remote locations as well as various departments within the company
Responsible for monthly accounting close of various equity investments, properties, including variance reporting
Reviews equity investment and property budgets and forecasts
Produces quarterly reports in support of Investor reporting
Support portfolio management as needed in the process of compiling the quarterly executive books
Perform REIT qualification testing on a quarterly basis
Preparation of related party and joint venture partner activity reconciliations and related payments of intercompany balances and distributions
Assist in review of joint venture documents, loan agreements and waterfall calculation set up and maintenance.
Manage and develop accounting staff
Consistently demonstrate use of tact and discretion.
